Wonderful family dog has a great foster home... but dreams of having a home of his own! His foster family said the following: "He will be a great companion for someone and is so giving and not demanding at all, grateful." If you are interested in meeting Smokey, please contact foster mom/dad Michelle or Jim at: 916-652-1373 or Marianna at 916-508-9418. You can not ask for a better FAMILY DOG! I drive 25 min one way to his foster home to see him; he is just one unbelievable and loving dog! You have to meet him in person to see for yourself! He is 4 years old! He is great family dog who loves everything and everybody including belly robs. Smokey has a sad story.The owner brought him into into the shelter saying that he does not want him since he is "too friendly" and plays with children and being taken on the walks by them. His former owner wanted guard dog and asked shelter to pull him down. I begged to keep him alive. He is the friendliest guy, no issues. Gets alone with people and dogs; we do not know about the cats. He is also in need of foster home and our rescue will pay for his vet bills and food. Many of our forever homes use a fostering opportunity to get to know their dog that they are considering of adopting.
